Purpose & Authority The purpose of this Bylaw is to protect the public health, safety, environment and general welfare of the Town by establishing requirements and procedures to manage stormwater Runoff, promote groundwater Recharge, and to prevent water pollution from new Development and Redevelopment. Increased and contaminated stormwater Runoff associated with developed land uses and the accompanying increase in Impervious surface, along with construction Site Runoff are major causes of impairment of water quality and flow in ponds, streams, rivers, wetlands and groundwater.
