About Tenant Wiki
A free tenant law research database and legal tooling platform for tenants, tenant organizers, and tenant unions.
What This Is
Tenant Wiki is a searchable database of 23,519 tenant law provisions across state statutes, municipal codes, housing court decisions, and agency rulings. Every section is indexed for full-text search with statutory citations preserved.
Beyond search, Tenant Wiki provides tools: jurisdiction-specific tenant rights summaries generated from verified rulesets, notice deadline reference tables, and (coming soon) guided demand letter generation and lease review.
Sources & Methodology
All content is sourced from public-domain government publications: state legislatures, municipal code repositories, and court opinion databases. No content is scraped from commercial legal databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.).

Rulesets (the structured rules used for rights summaries, deadline tables, and document generation) are manually verified against primary-source statute text. Each ruleset cites its authority and records its verification date.
What This Is Not
Tenant Wiki is a legal information tool, not a substitute for legal advice.
- We do not provide legal representation or attorney-client relationships.
- Generated documents are based on the facts you provide and the law as indexed in our database. We cannot guarantee the information is current, complete, or applicable to your specific situation.
- Tenant protection laws change. Rulesets are periodically verified but may not reflect the most recent legislative session.
- If you face eviction or a court deadline, contact local legal aid immediately.
