. Sykes argues in his reply to the mortgage defendants’ objection that the objection, which was filed on January 31, 2014, should not be considered because it was filed more than fourteen days after Sykes filed his motion for leave to file an amended complaint on January 14, 2014. See LR 7.1(b). Sykes's argument fails to factor in the additional three days allowed under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 6(d) (providing for three additional days after a period would otherwise expire when service is effectuated, as here, by Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 5(b)(2)(E)). Even if the mortgage defendants’ objection were untimely, the court would consider the objection in the interests of justice. See LR 1.3(b) ("The court may excuse a failure to comply with any local rule whenever justice so requires.”).
