Sharna Restaurant, Corp., 566 A.2d 31, 36 (D.C.1989) (citation omitted). Wood’s Rule in its original form has some of the attributes of the unfortunate body that Cromwell was addressing. The present case provides the full court with' an opportunity to determine whether, and to what extent, we should continue to adhere to a doctrine which, at least in its pristine form, has been abandoned by many courts, and which rests on assumptions that the scholarly community has long perceived to be profoundly flawed.
