310 charsDuring the period when the Statewide enabling act was in effect, Boston conducted rent control pursuant to the authority of that act. St. 1970, c. 842. Since the expiration of that act on April 1, 1976, rent control has continued in Boston under the authority of the original enabling statute for that city. 11
