The essential issue before us here is whether an employee can make a submissi-ble case for wrongful discharge on the whistleblower exception to the employment at-will doctrine when he or she is terminated for reporting in good faith that his or her employer is about to violate the law. We have found no Missouri caselaw directly on point. Public policy does, however, encourage employees to report suspected wrongdoing by co-workers. See Brenneke v.
