Tenant contends the notices and rent increase violated Civil Code section 1942.5, subdivision (c) which prohibits a landlord from retaliating against a tenant for exercising his legal rights. The jury found landlord had retaliated against tenant, but also concluded tenant had not suffered any damages from the retaliation.
