After being fired from her job at the Lee County Housing Authority (“LCHA”), Luz • *1292Gonzalez (“Gonzalez”) brought suit against the LCHA and against Patricia Moran (“Moran”), the LCHA Executive Director, in her individual and official capacities, pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 and 42 U.S.C. § 3617, a provision of the Fair Housing Act, 42 U.S.C. §§ 3601-3619, 3631. Moran moved for summary judgment in her individual capacity on the basis of qualified immunity. The district court denied this motion, and Moran filed an interlocutory appeal.1
