Appellants did not, however, file a second notice of appeal from the trial court’s denial of their motion for reconsideration. This was a potentially significant oversight inasmuch as appellants’ late-filed opposition to summary judgment arguably presented the trial court with new evidence. Appellees contend that our jurisdiction on appeal is therefore limited to considering the trial court’s initial ruling, and that we lack jurisdiction to review the subsequent ruling denying reconsideration. As will be seen, given the view we take of appellants’ claims, it is unnecessary to reach this somewhat complicated jurisdictional issue. 7
