467 charsThe defendant’s final claim is that the commissioner failed to offset the award of $12,747.24 by the amount *73that the plaintiff received as workers’ compensation benefits as a result of the injury he sustained on May 21, 1995, the day before he was discharged. In his decision, the commissioner does not mention the compensation benefits the plaintiff received, but during oral argument it was not disputed that the amount of those payments was approximately $6000.
