426 charsSimilarly, in People v. Superior Court (Jayhill Corp.) (1973) 9 Cal.3d 283, 288 [107 Cal.Rptr. 192, 507 P.2d 1400], we held that the “per-violation” penalty for false or deceptive advertising proscribed by Business and Professions Code section 17536 must be calculated on the basis of the number of persons to whom the alleged representations were made, rather than by the number of separately identifiable misrepresentations.
