*173 Importantly, and consistent with the earlier holding in Aweeka, the 1979 legislation added subdivisions (f) and (g) to section 1942.5 and therein created statutory rights of action against landlords who unlawfully retaliate against their tenants. Those subdivisions provide as follows: "(f) Any lessor or agent of a lessor who violates this section shall be liable to the lessee in a civil action for all of the following: "(1) The actual damages sustained by the lessee.
