After the notice to vacate had been served, appellant and his wife consulted a Legal Aid attorney. They appeared ex parte at municipal court on September 7,1990, to seek a stay of execution of the writ. The landlords’ attorney told the appellant and his wife that the notice to vacate was not directed to them, so they did not obtain a stay.
