, the Board of Zoning Adjustment of Kansas City may grant a special permit for construction of a customer-employee parking lot in a residential district (Districts R-3, R-4, R-4-0, R-5 and R-5-0) as an auxiliary use for customers and employees of neighboring business establishments. All of the lot or lots so developed must be within 500 feet of the business or industrial district. Nichols made application for such a permit as to the subject property. The permit was granted September 14,1982 and the parking lot was thereafter constructed. In the course of construction, some buildings on the site were demolished.
