nor did she present evidence of damages of either type. Instead, defendant sought to recover (a) the amount of her down payment, $1,300, (b) the aggregate of her monthly payments, allegedly $2,175, and (c) the sum of her expenditures for carpeting and drapes. Defendant, in short, wanted damages that would restore her to the position she occupied prior to the transaction, in effect giving her the benefit of a rescission of the agreement.
