553 charsWe note that the plaintiffs did not allege a violation of § 47a-55 in their amended complaint, nor in their motion to set aside the verdict. We do not review the claim that the trial court improperly refused to instruct on this statute, when the claim is raised for the first time on appeal. Rydingsword v. Liberty Mutual Ins. Co., 224 Conn. 8, 9-10 n.1, 615 A.2d 1032 (1992); Cahill v. Board of Education, 187 Conn. 94, 99-100, 444 A.2d 907 (1982). The plaintiffs did not appeal from the portion of the judgment concerning the second and fourth counts.
