Joseph Amador was awarded $5,000 for loss of consortium. The trial court also awarded prejudgment interest on this amount. Although we are not privy to the actual terms of the offer of settlement in question, we glean from the judgment of the trial court and the respective briefs of the parties that there was no specific demand made relative to settling Joseph Amador’s claim. Therefore, Joseph Amador is not entitled to prejudgment interest under § 408.040 RSMo 1994. Chambers By Abel v. Rice, 858 S.W.2d 230, 233 (Mo.App.S.D.1993); Lester v.
