It has been held that a lease clause is invalid if it would insulate landlords “from the consequences of violations of their duties to the public under both the common law and the District of Columbia Building Code * * Tenants Council of Tiber Island-Carrolsburg Square v. DeFranceaux, 305 F.Supp. 560, 563 (D.C.D.C.1969).
