Alarm/security sign. One sign per premises not to exceed one square foot. May be freestanding.

Temporary signs as defined in section 94-6.2.14.

94-6.2.16 Restrictions. In all zones, no sign shall be erected or displayed whose
configuration could be construed as a facsimile of a traffic control device, or which
could create a motor vehicle driving hazard, as determined by the building commissioner
with the advice of the chief of police.

94-6.2.17 Improperly Maintained and Abandoned Signs.

A sign that is abandoned shall be cause for its removal. The building commissioner
shall revoke the permit and notify the sign owner in writing, specifying a 45-day
period to remove the abandoned sign. If the sign has not been removed within the time
period, the building commissioner shall cause the sign to be removed forthwith. All
expenses for the removal shall be borne by the sign owner. If the abandoned sign appears
to have historical significance, then the building commissioner shall consult with
the mayor and/or the city council for guidance on its removal or retention.
