Secondary wall sign. Permit required. Each business establishment, if it has building frontage on a secondary
street or parking lot, shall be permitted one secondary wall sign. The area of the
sign shall not exceed one square foot per linear foot of building frontage of the
building facade to which the sign is affixed, or 40 square feet, whichever is less,
provided that no portion of the primary sign is affixed to the same building frontage
on the secondary street or parking lot.

Projecting sign. One projecting sign per business establishment. Permit required only if sign extends
over public property. Sign shall be located at or near the primary entrance. Sign
shall not exceed four square feet in area, shall be attached at a right angle to the
wall of the building, and shall not project more than two feet from said wall. The
bottom of the projecting sign shall be at least ten feet above grade. The top shall
be no higher than whichever of the following is lower: 25 feet above grade, or the
top of the sills of the first level of windows above the first story. In one-story
buildings with a continuous horizontal parapet, such sign shall be mounted no higher
than the top of the parapet. Continuous, direct, and indirect illumination is permitted.
Interior illumination and neon are not permitted. Applicants for a projecting sign
extending over public property shall submit proof of liability insurance or bond for
the sign.
