Further, causes of action for negligence and for injury to property are governed by CPLR 214, which provides for a three-year statute of limitations. Likewise, a cause of action for injury to property caused by exposure to toxins must be commenced within three years either from the date of discovery of the injury by the plaintiff or from the date when through the exercise of reasonable diligence such injury should have been discovered, whichever is earlier.
