402 charsUnder D.C.Code § 45-1516(a)(3), an exemption from rent control is provided for “[a]ny rental unit in any housing accommodation of 4 or fewer units, including any aggregate of 4 units within the same structure or not....” This exemption is subject to three limitations, the first one of which requires that the housing accommodation be “owned by not more than 4 natural persons.” Id. § 45-1516(a)(3)(A).
