The defendants owned certain real estate (premises) at 921 Stillwater Road, Stamford, and had leased the premises to Nancy Rivero and Carlos Rivero for a term to run from June 1, 1997, until May 31, 1998. By the terms of the lease, the premises could be sublet with the written approval of the defendants.
