Exterior wood surfaces. All exterior wood surfaces shall be adequately protected from water seepage and against
decay and shall be maintained in good repair.
(h)
Paint. All walls, ceilings, interior woodwork, doors and windows shall be kept free of flaking,
peeling or loose paint, shall be repainted or otherwise resurfaced as needed, and
shall be maintained in good repair. No person shall apply lead paint to the interior
or exterior surfaces of any dwelling, rooming house, dwelling unit, rooming unit or
facility nor on or around the common areas thereof.
(i)
Installation and maintenance of required facilities. Every supplied facility, piece of equipment, or utility which is required under this
title shall be so constructed or installed that it will function safely and effectively,
and shall be maintained in good repair.
(j)
Occupancy. No owner shall occupy or let to any other occupant any vacant dwelling unit unless
it is clean, sanitary, and fit for human occupancy.
(k)
Interior door. Every interior door shall be kept in sound working condition and good repair.
(l)
House/apartment numbering. Every owner of a dwelling or dwelling unit shall be responsible for affixing and
maintaining house numbers and/or apartment numbers as required under section 9-4 of the Code of the City of New Haven.
(m)
Maintenance of accessory structures. All accessory structures, including garages, sheds and fences, shall be maintained
structurally sound and in good repair.
