520 charsThe magistrate awarded each plaintiff, including the two children, $10,000 each in compensatory damages, and in addition punitive damages in the amount of $75,000, a total of $115,000, which added to the amount received from the owner is a total of $128,000. In these matters the trial judge, (or magistrate) has considerable discretion. The amount of damages will not be disturbed on appeal unless the award is clearly excessive. See Busche v.
