Sec. 18-60. - Space, use, and location.
A.
Each dwelling unit shall contain at least one hundred fifty (150) square feet of floor
space for the first occupant thereof and at least one hundred thirty (130) square
feet of floor space for every additional occupant, the floor space to be calculated
on the basis of total habitable room area. An owner shall not be penalized if a tenant
has misrepresented the number of occupants in a dwelling.
B.
In each dwelling unit of two (2) or more rooms, each room occupied for sleeping purposes
shall contain at least seventy (70) square feet of floor space for the first occupant
and at least fifty (50) square feet of floor space for each additional occupant thereof.
An owner shall not be penalized if a tenant has misrepresented the number of occupants
in a dwelling.
C.
Each dwelling unit shall have adequate closet or other storage space for the personal
effects of each permissible occupant. If it is lacking, an amount of space equal in
square footage to the deficiency shall be subtracted from the area of habitable room
space used in determining permissible occupancy.
D.
Each dwelling unit must contain a kitchen and a bathroom.
