392 chars2. Protected speech. D.N.'s argument that the harassment prevention order violated her civil rights under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution is similarly unavailing. The definition of harassment applies to speech only if it falls outside the protections of the First Amendment, such as when it consists of "fighting words" or "true threats." See O'Brien, 461 Mass. at 422.6
