364 charsThe discussion of a requirement of “bad faith” and multiple damages pursuant to G. L. c. 186, § 15B (7), in McGrath was, at most, dictum. If deleted from the opinion, it would not change the outcome. The landlord in that case had been found to be in bad faith, and the court concluded that such a finding was warranted. McGrath v. Mishara, 386 Mass. 74, 80 (1982).
